Why Parallel Generators?

Connecting two smaller inverter generators in parallel offers several advantages over buying one large generator:

  • Portability: Two 50lb generators are much easier to move than one 100lb unit.
  • Redundancy: If one unit fails, you still have half your power.
  • Efficiency: Run only one unit for light loads to save fuel. Run both when you need to power the AC.

Requirements:

  • Both generators must be Inverter type.
  • They must be Parallel Capable (check ports).
  • Ideally, they should be the same brand and model (though some brands allow mixing sizes).
  • You need a specific Parallel Kit cable.
