Why Parallel Generators?
Connecting two smaller inverter generators in parallel offers several advantages over buying one large generator:
- Portability: Two 50lb generators are much easier to move than one 100lb unit.
- Redundancy: If one unit fails, you still have half your power.
- Efficiency: Run only one unit for light loads to save fuel. Run both when you need to power the AC.
Requirements:
- Both generators must be Inverter type.
- They must be Parallel Capable (check ports).
- Ideally, they should be the same brand and model (though some brands allow mixing sizes).
- You need a specific Parallel Kit cable.
